The fashion industry has an immense impact on water resources, and apparel production accounts for around 20% of industrial water pollution.
Wastewater from the dyeing process is poured directly into waterways and rivers, and up to 80% of wastewater is globally disposed of without proper treatment. *2

The dyeing process is a controversial part of the fashion industry, but as color is added to MocoFilo during the spinning process, dyeing is not necessary during its production.

Compared to regular dyed fabric, the production of MocoFilo requires around 66% less water. CO2 emissions are also reduced by around 70%.
Additionally, MocoFilo's biggest characteristic, its high color fastness, is expected to lengthen the product lifespan and thus help improve the textile waste problem.
